Pilot Project in Regenerative Agriculture and Agroforestry

We launched a customer collaboration pilot project of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry. This initiative supports 47 French farmers, helping them implement practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance soil carbon storage.

Driving Water Efficiency: 12% Reduction in Global Water Usage since 2021

Since 2021, we’ve achieved a 12% reduction in global water intensity, supported by ongoing awareness efforts among our associates, sustainable cleaning practices in all bakeries,
water-efficient devices, circular systems, and the reuse of water from treatment plants.

Sustainable Innovation: Recycled Trays Initiative

We have launched a recycled trays initiative in Türkiye to reduce carbon emissions and integrate circular practices into foodservice operations.

The new trays are produced using recyclable, biobased, upcycled material, including surplus bread from our operations. These trays also incorporate bioplastic raw materials, contributing to a reduction in carbon footprint.

Raising our environmental standards in Italy

We are proud to recognize our Italian bakeries in Monterotondo and Bomporto, which both obtained ISO 14001 certification in 2024, an international standard for environmental management systems. They are now moving toward their next goal of achieving ISO 50001 certification, an international standard for energy management systems.

The BQ Forest is Growing: More than 26,000 Trees Planted

Since 2023, Bimbo QSR leaders have committed to balancing the environmental impact of our corporate events through reforestation initiatives, giving rise to the BQ Forest. This year, we’ve doubled its size, reaching 26,600 trees planted across 8 different programs spanning Brazil, Europe, Africa, and Asia, contributing to biodiversity restoration, but also to poverty relief and food security in local communities.

Cultivating a Greener Future at Bimbo QSR Türkiye

Bimbo QSR Türkiye has led impactful environmental education initiatives through tree planting, composting, recycling campaigns, and learning activities. With more than 10,000 trees planted and strong community involvement, the team has achieved 100% renewable electricity use and earned ISO certifications. Their efforts were recognized with a national environment award in 2022.

Bimbo QSR Ukraine transformed its bakery’s backyard into a vegetable garden, fostering wellness, teamwork, and sustainability. The initiative strengthens associate bonds, reduces plastic use, and provides fresh, homegrown produce for our associates. More than a green space, it models how eco-friendly practices can create a healthier and more connected workplace.

Bimbo QSR Brazil: Turning Awareness Into Action

A climate workshop at Bimbo QSR Brazil sparked a mindset shift, revealing the gap between climate knowledge and real-world challenges. This led to everyday changes, like replacing plastic bottles with glass, encouraging proper waste disposal, and collecting tabs from aluminum cans for NGOs, that inspired broader action among teams.
